What is it?
Yoga is something that is done, not learned. This means that regardless of experience you can do yoga. Mindrise yoga differs from other styles of yoga because of its intent. Within this style there is no need to consume your energy with constant thoughts of whether you are doing something correctly or if you should be more flexible. Hereh the only question you have to be concerned with is: Am I Comfortable? That is it. Krishnamurti's teachings have been summed up in the phrase "Truth is a pathless land." Yoga is also pathless; you are either doing it or you are not. Very simple.
Yoga is not flexibility, or stretching. It is more basic than this. Although, it can appear on the outside to be these things. Yoga is a practice that involves both mind and body. Specifically, it involves mentally and physically understanding something. I've seen many definitions for what the word yoga means. I do not believe that any are right or wrong. The one that is most meaningful to me is that it means union, or joining together. This can be interpreted as union between you and god, mental and physical, or any other number of things. Are you relaxed right now as you read this? I choose to think of Yoga as a decision between the body and mind to focus on the same thing to create a feeling of comfort and contentment.
